Notes: Goethe Grove, also known as Mary Glide Goethe Grove, is located near the confluence of Good and Prairie Creeks in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park. On April 30, 1948, Sacramento philanthropist Charles M. Goethe, widower of Mary Glide Goethe, donated this tract of old-growth redwood forest to Save the Redwoods League in memory of his late wife.
Goethe Grove includes 2 of the 15 largest coast redwoods (Newton B. Drury and Sir Isaac Newton) and the largest tree in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park (Sir Isaac Newton, the only tree in the grove larger than 30,000 ft3 (850 m3)).
Sir Isaac Newton is the largest tree in Goethe Grove.
